The best backup is one you understand and have tested. Here is what Sentinel Vault does, what it does not do, and what to expect.
It copies files from the Windows folders you explicitly select. It is not a full-disk imaging or bare-metal recovery product.
Hidden files are included when the signed-in Windows account can read them. Locked or inaccessible files are reported in History.
No. Monitoring synchronizes changed files into the working copy. ZIP packages are created by manual and scheduled backup runs and are governed by retention settings.
If another application allows reading, Sentinel Vault can copy it. An exclusively locked file is skipped and recorded while other readable files continue. Close accounting or database applications before a critical scheduled backup when possible.
No. Registration is stored separately from the Windows-protected settings file. Importing a renewed registration does not remove protected folders, schedules, destinations, history, or statistics.
No. Maintain multiple backup copies, keep at least one copy away from the primary computer when possible, inspect backup results, and test restoring files regularly.
Each registration is locked to one Windows computer. Annual licenses remain active for 12 months, lifetime licenses do not expire, and the business pack includes five separate lifetime registrations.
No. Sentinel Vault lets you choose storage you control. External drives, remote hosting, internet service, and third-party storage accounts are purchased separately.
